>>58902083>MundatoremTell me about it, SaS current fifth singularity arc could use a serious amount trimming or the cutting out of several characters because right now, I think there's like 4, secretly 5 or 6, factions being juggled and each chapter could genuinely be summed up in a paragraph and you wouldn't miss a single thing.
We are like 230k words deep in this arc and it doesn't feel like we've approached any midpoint or any way of solving the singularity and oops Morgan just nuked a town. I might be wrong, but I don't really want to go and reread it.
Doesn't help that every character feels stagnant as fuck since basically minimal amount of time has passed in the story.
I'm a little more tolerant of Demon in Fodlan but that's because there are less characters to juggle in my mind but still, the last couple of chapters can be summarized as
>Goetia talks to Lysithea>She has a breakdown because Goetia sat on his ass for 100+ chapters>Goetia turns to Byleth and others for help>"just tell her you want to cure her">"of course fuuck, thats genius, why didnt i think of that???">gets his jaw shattered by Dimitri while Lysithea watches>"look, i can fix you like i fixed my jaw"and it takes 48k words to do 4 conversations? Half of Harry Potter and Sorcerers Stone?
The side stories are miles better despite being a fraction of the size because they aren't bogged down by dogshit pacing.
