>>58906611idk what you get out of this but ok as one of the physical games I will elaborate for you on why emerald ultimately sucks.
the sections that require mach bike controls are unnecessarily brutal like the hold right hold down hold left smudge left hold up smudge right kind, for ash collection you "need" similar finesse too or its not as effective. this game is part of the rubbish era of backtracking to do past puzzles for minimal reward. like what the fuck is the shoal bell vs leftovers. what the fuck was that one time desert tower. they've clearly refined these in later games, so why should this be recommended?
the ai cheating in this game is one of the worst, the battle frontier head cheats and uses max ivs, the opposing team will crit and will always max out multihit moves, it will use the move that does precisely the amount of damage to faint because it has a calculator onhand, it learns on what moves you use but has every information onhand, if you switch it discards this information so its equal parts supersmart and superstupid and exploitable
the mon nature screwing you over is irritating even if it can be influenced. and they don't make the postgame rebattleable? what the fuck? you're not even getting the full experience without secret base trades and berry blending partners and with one use TMs because the movelist can be ass. you got many trade pokemon like the clamperl line and horsea line and only a very limited selection of gen 2 was scattered between emerald and firered leafgreen. why even tease the wishstone, and then the said mon isn't obtainable just to screw with the player? braille was cool and all, but was it really that good compared to unknown shift puzzles that were a minigame within a game and the radio?
