>>58912287Orphan Street Urchin who lives in the old decrepit parts of Jubilife discovers that newbie trainers on a Journey get a free meal per day and shelter at Pokemon Centers. Anything else on her as a character is a spoiler. The author set up a LOT of backstory for her that's revealed overtime.
World is a more realistic take, but dodges the edgy parts most fics like that fall prey to. Flawed people, flawed systems, and its not a utopia. Still an optimistic world, and its certainly not a death world or anything stupid.
Characters are all extremely detailed, and the author avoids exposition dumps bar a few places where its required (Psychic Handbook). They all have motivations, preferences, backstories, symbolism, and their own voices when its their POV. The villains aren't stupid and the authorities aren't incompetent. Hell, our psychic mentor is shown to be so deep in backlog hell with what we find out with Galactic that its a miracle he can sleep 4 hours a night (hes not putting this on a child).
Story is in Quest format, ie readers vote on actions. This also means its a very slow timescale, but the author takes full advantage of the format in letting us explore the world. Loads of sidequests, lore, and foreshadowing abound. For example the first town the she heads she discovers a Pokemon smuggling plot that could've ended up with us losing a Pokemon (temporarily) if we had voted poorly.
The length of the fic is NOT from purple prose or repetitive actions or excessive introspection. I wrote this post

When the quests done, we will absolutely see fanfics set in TLTDs world pop up, just because of how detailed the worldbuilding and characters are.
Updates are usually once or twice a day. Though the Authors on break right now. Of course their form of "Break" is writing a goddamn Tabletop setting for the European style Knight Orders mentioned in that Eterna Forest post
