Post pokemon that feel like they were half baked or failed to elaborate enough on their theme.
>Chesnaught
It was always in my top 3 grass starters but seeing M Chesnaught made me realize just how much Chesnaught feels like a rough draft. The paladin theme is just not sufficiently conveyed in its design alone. You can tell Greninja is supposed to be a ninja with its scarf, you can tell Delphox is a wizard with its wand, but without any context its not immediately obvious that Chesnaught is meant to be any sort of knight. At face value it just looks like a mummy hedgehog who's balding, not a paladin and I suspect 'mummy' might've even been what Chesnaught originally was before said idea got scrapped and whatever came of it recycled into Chesnaught at the last minute. M Chesnaught really just feels like what Chesnaught was supposed to look like from the very start.
