>Latest information I have is from almost a year ago.

>Starters are a grass sheep, water raccoon, fire turtle.
(They evolve into grass/rock, water/ghost, fire/dark)
>The idea of a procedurally generated island has been scrapped.
>Plans for a new eevee evolution have been brought up since Summer 2024. As of right now the only accepted concept is a poison type. Im unsure if it will make it to the final game. Rock and Steel were considered.
>The legendaries are a quartet this time. The wind and wave legendary pokemon are the boxart legendaries, but they each have one subordinate pokemon. The subordinates look very much like a fairytail creature. Similar to ultra beasts but more fantastical
>There is a neat dark type pokemon that can evolve into a ghost or a fighting type depending on the version. It is one of the mascot pokemon of the game. This will be the first pokemon you encounter before you choose your starters

>There are 8 gyms which can be avoided entirely if you so chose, but will impact character dialogue. If you avoid the gyms, you do not battle the champion, and your rivals will tend to not like you as much. The professor would have a disdain for you.
>The endings differ in terms of character relationships as well as obtainable pokemon. If you rush to end credits, you cannot obtain the legendary pokemon. The preferred route to take is the nurture route. The nature route is generally the "bad" ending as the game focuses on the concept of nature vs nurture

From what i have seen so far lysandre does not return if anyone is wondering. I have not seen mega evolution at all in the game. The last i have seen was an inventory slot for mega stones which has since been removed
