No other way to level up a Pokemon from Level 1 for post-game/competitive. If they took a page out of DQ10 or Xenoblade's notebooks you'd be able to save excess EXP from the campaign to use instead, but no EXP candies are only from post-game/online stuff in the first place fuck you. At least quests and completing the Pokedex gives you some finite methods in some of the games, but that doesn't help SS.
