What's sad the normal form actually looks better, they could have literally gone any direction for the mega, I like this image pretty well and it fits the fairy typing, it's just so fucking shit she deserved better damnit.

It doesn't look fat to me, plus its based of brontosaurus, they were fucking huge dude, they ate insane size portions relative to body mass, plus it has the fantastical element to it being kind of fairy looking.

I feel like its because GameFreak has a sort of list of moves that they keep for STAB and only allow non STAB-users access to on rare occasions.
Something like Dazzling Gleam, well yeah, just about anything can gleam at you in a dazzling way.
But the ability to drain you with a kiss? Well not everything has the lips or temperament to kiss you, let alone drain with it. Or blast you with the power of the moon? Not every Pokemon has that lunar affiliation.
Not excusing it because Meganium definitely should have those. Just trying to apply some logic behind why not.

Yet they gave out Close Combat like free candy in gen 8. Game Freak has always been a retard with certain moves and it's obvious with certain Pokemon.
