>>58925430>pokemon fans aren't robophilesI don't think most Pokemon fans like metallic designs in general
Notice how the most popular ones barely have any metal on their main bodies or don't look like the average steel type: Lucario, Tinkaton, Jirachi, Zacian
The only exceptions are Metagross, Mawile, Aegislash, Scizor, Corviknight, and maybe Dialga and Solgaleo. Even then, Metagross probably is only liked due to being the ace of champion. If it wasn't,and was a random 3-stage line you could find in Hoenn, people would probably just trash on the whole line for being more akin to object mons.
Aegislash is mainly popular due to being a ghost type (probably the most popular type among normies).
I don't think Dialga is really that beloved since most people seem to vastly prefer Palkia and Giratina.
Corviknight is a laughing stock now and TPC doesn't want it to be seen as cool or tough anymore in favor of something marketable like Tinkaton.
Gamefreak and the fandom as a whole seem to forget that Mawile is part steel-type and steel specialists are banned from ever using her outside of generic npcs and Jasmine in the PWT before she got the fairy type added, while almost every fairy specialist uses her.
Steel types as a whole are seen as a joke or complete bitch to Tinkaton among the community.
Most fans don't fan art of steel types outside of a select few.
It really sucks since it's my favorite type, but most of their designs aren't marketable to children, women, and casuals who just like cute animals or cool dragons, dogs, and cats.
