Is there any legitimate reason to play Emerald over Ruby/Sapphire?

Emerald has:
>more double battles
>gym rematches
>battle frontier
>rayquaza before the elite four
>animated sprites
>more battle transitions
>the evil team story makes more sense with both of them going against eachother
But:
>missing pokemon like surskit, meditite, zangoose etc.
>champion steven with his diverse and strong team was replaced with a faggot who uses a mono team of the SAME TYPE as the last gym leader
>meteor falls has a worse tileset
>contest halls as side content replaced with battle tents, as if the game didn't already have enough battling and an expansive post-game facility dedicated to it
>annoying side character who serves no story purpose other than to introduce you to the battle frontier in the post-game
>juan is worse than wallace as eighth gym leader and breaks the pattern of all gym leaders having a hoenn ace
>trainers' eyes replaced with the archaic gen 2 calling system
>pointless and monotonous evil team lair sections added to pad out the story
Emerald seems like an overall downgrade to me.
