>Omori: Around the time development of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet wrapped up, we formed a small team of about three people and started prototyping. At the same time, we also created an image promo video… I think it was about six months later that we gave our presentation to The Pokémon Company. By that point, the concept of a new Pokémon slow-life sandbox game, the idea of Ditto as the protagonist, and the general world setting and art direction were already fairly well developed.
>That said, although we did make a prototype, Game Freak had almost no development know-how in this genre. So we were truly grateful to have Koei Tecmo Games — who had experience producing sandbox games — join us on this project.
