"He is an aspiring fashion designer, slowly earning a reputation in Lumiose City as a designer shrouded in mystery." this setup would flow perfectly into us meeting Jacinthe, because he could design dresses for the meeting, where they would impress the SBC leading to him achieving his dream.
Instead nothing of this happens and we get the clothes from a random npc.
