>>58941086This would be way better if it was an upgraded port, not unlike a decomp/recomp.
>Game in higher resolution (can be done on emulator and is only noticeable in some minor graphical effects, the trailer footage is in OG resolution)>Restored, uncompressed audio>Any gameplay enhancement or quality of life whatsoever>Online functionality for multiplayer>One version with a language selector at the start of the game (or even a FR/LG version selector)They didn't even bother and just slapped a GBA rom on an emulator, so instead we get
>Basic GBA color correction>HOME compatibility coming soon™>Maybe, just maybe, compatibility with Colosseum/XD in NSO>Maybe the ability to change the emulator controls (they'd have to program a menu just for that so I doubt it)>Every language is its own separate release, if you are a supreme paypig you can pay 240$ to get every version in every language. It even says on the EU eshop "This is the (language) version. Choose your preferred version carefully">Local multiplayer only, fuck youI believe the reason they're separating every language release is because they don't want you changing language mid-playthrough since some Pokémon have different names between languages which causes some internal inconsistencies in the .sav data, and fixing that would require some actual work they certainly aren't willing to do.
And even if they did the selecting your language at start thing, having all languages in a single package would mean six different roms coexisting in the same game but only one being used ever, and apart from being inefficient as fuck from a technical standpoint that's a big no-no for the greedy fucks at TPCi which want you to pay full price for your save files,
as shown when they released the GB games on the 3DS and made a custom version of the Virtual Console emulator without savestate support.
