Which starter you want to pick? Charmander? Fire Red because I don’t think Arcanine benefits from anything pre-physical/special split.
Squirtle? Fire Red because you dont need Starmie, or Leaf Green for Ninetales.
Bulbasaur? Leaf Green because you get Ninetales, Slowbro, and/or Starmie.
I couldn’t tell you the difference between Vileplume or Victreebel. One has a mega now if you get attached and want to transfer, and as a kid I thought Petal Dance was cool because it’s just grass type Thrash so I used Vileplume a bit more.
