It absolutely muddies the conversation at large however and nothing can just be fine, understandable, generally good or generally bad, case in point being the amiibo figures currently. The first-party series amiibo for Mario/LoZ/now Metroid have always just fucking sucked, but that seems to be case for all of them. They usually act as just power up respawns in the games that they are made for. The Smash and now Kirby Air Riders amiibo however are absolutely top tier. I have both KAR amiibo and I have literally gotten $1 per hour of game time out of them both alone (an extra 100 hours) due to all of the training and trial and error I've gone through. I think they look cool and the swapping premise for the riders is sick, so I plan on getting all of them. I'm still picking up some of the Smash ones too at second hand stores for cheap because training those and having them battle each other is still pretty fun to do.
So the topic at hand is the price of Fr+Lg. You can easily, easily get 40 hours out of it, 50 cents per hour. Time to beat has it at 30 hours for end credits and 50 for main story + sides. And a lot of piracy complaints have always been "well I pirate it because I can't pay secondhand prices for these games". Great, all of those people can now just get the Switch version. I don't see how me pointing this out is shilling whatsoever, I shilled harder for amiibo above and I just said half of them aren't even worth it.
Overall though- if people are happy with emulation, I say go for it. This release isn't for them, it's for the people that want to have no-hassle connectivity on a platform readily available. Only reason I'd be getting it is to play with friends, otherwise I have my original cart that I still use.
