Godspeed to the people who enjoy doing it but personally I prefer completing the dex in the games themselves rather than in Home.

Fully completed including game-specific ones, obviously have Z-A two dexes ready too for Pokemon Day when they release the compatibility.

I have everyone in gen 1-7 in bank besides Manaphy, Shaymin, Keldeo, Hoopa, Marshadow Zeraora and Meltan.
I have everyone in gen 8 besides the DLC additions and the dark monkey.
I never bought Legends or SV so I guess I am at like 87% done.

I'll probably get back to wonderbox trading around pokemon day. I've been making my home living dex through only trading with the wonderbox since the service released currently at 1113 / 1390. Minus of course mythical and hat pikachus. Most of which are in there so those are included. Happy with my progress but still no single gen complete

worth mention. Shinys or anything that I at least can tell was hacked aren't added. Which has kept me from adding a few Pokemon I got in the box. GO origin are included but are kept track of separately to remove if I get a non GO origin to replace. Legends would probably be next to impossible otherwise. And I can't evolve anything only add Pokemon as is

The tradebots on the 3DS games were nowhere near as bad as they are on the Switch games. Early XY was pretty free from them because homebrewing a 3DS was still a pain in the ass back then if you didn't have Cubic Ninja or an early firmware and Home wasn't out yet. The Switch was fully hackable by the time SwSh was released.

I think after I finish Gen 3 I'm going to do a full Gen 4 dex. Getting all of the event legends in Gen 3 was cool since Deoxys and Mew actually had to be caught, and I had to 100% Colosseum to get Celebi, it's kinda disappointing that outside of Manaphy/Darkrai/Shaymin/Arceus all of the events are "load up an event distribution ROM and get the Mystery Gift." Or maybe I'll just do FRLG Kanto in on Switch. Haven't really decided yet.

Gen 9 is completed, just need to fix them into position. Z-A minus expansion completed as well.

I'll work on my way to a Gen 8 one after finishing the Expansions and reseting the game (never cared before).

just make a new dummy Home account, deposit everything one box at a time, and get a new one. It doesn't require a Home subscription to get the shiny gifts, and it takes like 15-20 minutes, but it's still faster than doing an entire PLA playthrough.

Unless they give us RSE and enable Home support for Colo/XD on NSO, you're not going to be able to do past Gen 1 with FRLG.

Gen II isn't so bad, because they at least have the option to Move mons instead of just withdrawing depositing (and the save required isn't the end of the world if you've done any kind of Gen 4 living dex), but doing Gen I without Stadium (2) is fucking AWFUL Not only do you have to do so many duplicate files to get extra one ofs (if not breeding or using Stadium reward Pokemon) but you have to organize using Deposit/Withdraw with no Move. I wouldn't even recommend someone try to do a Gen I only living dex with no Gen II assistance for breeding starters/eevees/fossils on VC even as a joke.

Sure, but doing everything without Colo/XD is the real pain in the ass. Hope you enjoy doing three Emerald playthroughs to get all three Johto starters, because if we don't have access to Colo/XD that's how you're going to have to get them. And you're also going to be missing Ho-Oh/Lugia if they don't enable the Mystic Ticket, but personally I'm expecting that after they enabled the Celebi event.

The Celebi disc has a function other than giving out Celebi, even if it's minor. It also allows you to get ingame Colosseum rewards based on your Poke Coupons (a PP Max for 1k, a Pikachu with a Light Ball for 5k and a second Master Ball for 30k), and it can give Colosseum itself a Celebi, as well as distributing FORTY EIGHT Celebi to all five GBA Pokemon games (as long as they've cleared the Elite Four at least once), even though it was released before Fire Red, Leaf Green and Emerald.

The Jirachi bonus disc just gives Jirachi to Ruby and Sapphire only, and that's basically it. It'd be worthless if you didn't also buy Ruby and Sapphire on the eShop.

Yes, I know how the JP Colosseum bonus disc works. I hex edited an ISO of it to disable the region lock and loaded it with Swiss to give my completed EN Colo save Celebi. And that was years ago.

The English version of Colosseum has the entirety of the Celebi disc inside of it, completely functional, with the event Celebi and Pikachu localized, and working with all 5 GBA games.

Completing one for Gen 1 and 2 was a ton of fun. Trying out different routes for the multiple playthroughs and learning speedrun strats is more engaging than it thought it would be.
Completing the Gen 3 pretty much killed any enjoyment I had for the games. Colosseum is such a slog to get through, easily the most boring game I've ever played.
