We're 4 generations in now (6-9) of games with either shit performance, or content/feature cutting and they still get rewarded for it.

Everyone knows the product quality is fucking abysmal but a bunch of people are still buying. Who are those people?

Always has been an issue. Gen 1 was buggy garbage that didn't work as intended across the board, and every game has had some issues.

Gen 3 cut the day/night cycle, pokegear, apricorns, and a shitload of pokemon got dexcut.
Gen 5 cut berry growing, the poketch, a shitload of pokemon from the games, contests, the VS Seeker, following pokemon, and the Pokewalker.
Gen 6 cut the PWT, Pokestar studios, the dream world, and did not include several pokemon.
Gen 7 cut mega evolution and several pokemon from the games.
Gen 8 cut hundreds of pokemon from the games entirely, pokeamie, super training, and the option to disable EXP Share.

The problem is shithead kids think they're somehow deserved anything beyond their era of importance. When they grew the fuck up and realised the franchise's expectations for them (continue supporting us or fuck off, no inbetween, no compromise, you're an irrelevance, handle it) did not extend into offering them anything the level of attention they got as retard children, important as fuck to wring every red cent out of them because they're retard shithead kids who won't know the difference.
