Pokemon community is obsessed with physical media that is completely worthless. They waste thousands of dollars on paper cards. These games are comparatively dirt cheap to what most nintendies are willing to spend

Call of Duty has a similar issue of being a massively popular cash cow franchise the peaked 15ish years ago. Nobody talks about the modern campaigns because they're shit, but the modern warfare trilogy and black ops 1 (especially black ops 1) get way too much attention.

Also Halo since the franchise was supposed to end at the third game but has been kept alive as a shambling corpse by Microsoft.

Basically, when modern games in a popular franchise are shit, the dickriders of the new games seeth when people with standards prefer the older ones.

Most of them are, this is the rule. Pokémon is an exceptional series by modern standards for releasing new games (not just remakes) regularly.

According to the zoomer, emulation is illegal. It isn't. Piracy is.
They would rather buy carts made of the cheapest chinesium than use an emulator. Or learn another language to get the carts cheaper.

F-Zero by virtue of people not seeing 99 as a real entry despite it being one and other entries that are were once lost media
Half-Life by virtue of not releasing anything except Alyx in nearly 20 years
Rollercoaster Tycoon since Atari has fumbled the rights and only makes money from rereleases and not new releases
3D Mario, the amount of discussion that 64/Sunshine/Galaxy get compared to Galaxy 2/3D Land or World/Odyssey is extremely lopsided
