Just got Shinning Pearl. Is it wrong for it to be my first experience with gen 4? I never played the originals. So far I am loving it but everyone on the internet says it is the spawn of Satan.

It’s not “wrong” lol. I definitely prefer Platinum like most do but BDSP aren’t that bad imo.

yea the hate has always been overblown. I get not thinking they're great remakes but they are overall improvements on DP which are still good games. Outside of arguably graphics and music but personally don't mind the remakes in that department.

As far as Pokemon games go they kinda underwhelm but it was the first game I ever caught a shiny Legendary in being Mewtwo, so they’re not that bad in my book.

I think the issue with them as remakes is that there is already a remake (platinum) which adds more and has better changes which was then ignored for these remakes.
