>>58975027Me and my bud literally played Gena 1-5 splitscreen multiplayer online over Parsec. We would trade and battle each other after each gym. We even played Stadium 1&2, the Gamecube games and Battle Revolution. We were able to trade up and transfer everything we caught through each game incredibly easily and while retaining each mons legality and after our journey was through we even got everything we caught onto Pokemon Home by transferring them to a 3DS game and doing the Bank to Home transfer. Every feature and edge case was 100% emulatable and worked like it would if we were in the same room playing on real hardware.
Nintendo and Gamefreak could very easily do this if they wanted to, hell they have the infrastructure to do so already set up: Pokemon Home has the ability to take Pokemon in and out of the games and properly convert them and add/remove certain moves and abilities etc depending on the game. The NSO emulator apps have online play integrated and it works great. The N64 app even apparently has the transfer pak in the code for Stadium.
Instead though they deliberately chose not to let you do this. Despite working for years to make these things possible, they decided "Nah, local play only. You also can't transfer Pokemon into the game from Home". Despite people being clearly willing to pay 20 fucking dollars a piece for these old games, Fire Red and Leaf Green are the only retro mainline games they've released on the Switch in it's going on 9 years of existence. I would have paid $120, maybe even more, for a Pokemon Classic Collection if it let me do most of everything I did with my friend on a PC for free. It makes no fucking sense, they can do it, they have everything to do it already, I don't understand why they even made shit like Pokemon Home if they won't let you do this incredibly basic shit. I don't understand why you would release Pokemon Stadium 1,2, XD on NSO if there's no integration. None of it makes any sense.
