STAY MAD JEW
The final swallow brought Diantha’s long, graceful legs into the chamber, her stockinged feet—the fine silk already dissolving—kicking in one last, feeble spasm before the esophagus sealed shut above them with a final, wet contraction. Total darkness returned, deeper now, pressed as they were together. The only light was a faint, sickly green bioluminescence from the stomach lining itself, casting their terrified faces in ghastly relief.
Outside, Aldith’s laughter was a bright, cruel sound. “A reunion! How touching! Two champions, embracing their shared destiny. The greatest talents of your generation… soon to be nothing more than a rich, creamy slurry. Sevvy’s vitality is singing. He’s never had two such prime specimens at once. You’ll support his growth for months.”
The stomach walls clenched, grinding their bodies together. Cynthia felt the lace of Diantha’s bra scratch against her own bare breasts. The Kalosian woman shuddered violently, a sob wracking her frame.
“It… it burns,” Diantha whimpered, her cultured accent breaking. “Everywhere… it’s eating me alive.”
“I know,” Cynthia whispered, her forehead touching Diantha’s. The simple contact was a small anchor in the torrent of agony. “I know. I’ve been… I’ve been here for hours.”
“We’re going to die in here,” Diantha stated, the horror giving way to a numb, chilling certainty. “We’re going to be… digested. Alive.”
Cynthia could only nod in the dark, the motion rubbing her cheek against Diantha’s. “Yes.”
A fresh wave of crushing compression made them both cry out. Their limbs were tangled, Diantha’s knee pressing into Cynthia’s stomach, Cynthia’s elbow wedged against Diantha’s ribcage. There was no room, no dignity, only the brutal, intimate press of flesh against flesh as the organ worked to break them down.
Aldith’s voice filtered through, a delighted commentary.
