When they updated the eShop to re-add the "Home compatibility coming soon" line, they corrected the filesize as well to be 39MB on the US/JP eShops. All of them now list the game as being 39MB.
The speculation about the European eShop release having the Game Corner slots removed is also complete bullshit. The US English/Spanish/French releases are identical to the European English/Spanish/French releases.

It works in the English and Japanese versions, because there was never an English or Japanese release that fixed the Nugget Bridge glitch. The 1.0 Switch Release is based on the most recent release for each version of the game.
