The game was a linear borefest.
Unbalanced around exp share.
Wild area is the most bore and horrid looking area ever.
Dlc was boring as fuck.

I feel vindicated, SS had a lot of problems and yes the wild area was a mistake, but the rest of the artstyle was genuinely good and it was a step in the right direction

we've always thought the SwSh towns weren't that bad btw. swsh is still one of the worst gens, would probably be the worst if it wasn't for scatvomit, which made swsh look so much better than it intitially did because of the shitty attempt at an open world and downgraded character designs.

SWSH feel so hollow. It's like... they have these big scale maps but there are towns with 0 or just a few enterable buildings, and NPCs fade out of existance when you take a few steps. Then there is the story progression which is quite literally a gym a rival battle every town with no detours or optional places along the way.
And when it does seem like something is happening? Lol Leon dealt with it off-screen. Then of course is the infamous forced conflict at the end. I don't think I've ever seen more obviously rushed Pokemon games (not counting BDSP). Fuck SWSH. First HD new gen yet has less depth than fucking game boy games

But I hated Sword and Shield and thoroughly enjoyed Scarlet and Violet. The wild area is the only thing that made Sword and Shield feel special and it was essentially a beta test of Scarlet and Violet's systems.
