Flamigo's literally the definitive speedrunner mon to a point where the very first thing a speedrunner will do is go to the marshlands to catch one.
Jam it full of the EXP Candies you get along the route, and it gains the capacity to rape the entire game by itself, from Katy to AI Professor.

He's clearly after the first gym. Before the first gym is the only bad part of BW's Pokemon variety and it's only 4 areas long which is among the faster starts map wise. Shame about trying to keep the WiiDS casuals, but at least it didn't negatively impact the rest of the game.
