>>59018060I already checked this out myself right after the trailer dropped, yeah the region is very large, however, its very likely that the density of the world will fall dramatically outside of a couple of the main islands (namely the starting island and main city island)
Obviously I'd love it if they used the island setup to basically cut out the filler nothing areas between the points of interest they actually designed (as is standard open world fare) by just replacing them with ocean which comes across better, but I just get this feeling looking at this (obviously unfinished since its from 2024) map, like the islands on the far left and far right (the like, wastelandy one and the snow one) look noticably more barren than the starting island in the center.
Also pokemon is NEVER winning GotY, even if they released a game that was at the highest imaginable quality for the franchise, its not the kind of series that wins GotY (also it will be up against GTA6 since the it will actually be up for 2027 GotY due to how the cutoff works). It's like how Monster Hunter will never win GotY, so Capcom keeps trying to morph it into a game more similar to past GotY winners.
