Gecqua is based on a specific type of gecko, the strophurus gecko. As a genus, anyway.
They shoot a foul-smelling liquid out of their tails. Some members of the family also have spines on their tails. Some like picrel also have eyelash-like spines.
Gecqua's evos are gonna be spiny, and it's gonna have another gimmick related to its tail in its evolved forms.
I have no idea why bulbapedia doesn't mention this genus but instead chooses to mention the fat-tailed gecko, the knob-tailed gecko, and the crested gecko. It's a gecko that shoots a liquid out of its tail. This is what it is. Anyway, someone go and edit that about it being a Strophurus gecko in for me, would you? I cannot imagine they'd really complain about such an obvious pull.
