This dude has no color coordination, the vest has way too much yellow in one place, the green armbands look terribly out of place now that the logo on his hat isn't green anymore, and somehow the green on his bag doesn't even make them look better. I could take or leave the baggy pants but they should at least be a darker color than his top.
There's no cohesion in the design at all, you can talk all the shit you want about BW ash but his outfit is a simple red/blue/black with some yellow to break it up (i don't like the zipper but its not offensively ugly).
I think I could forgive it if he was utilitymaxxing or something but he's not even dressed for Sinnoh's cold, neither is Dawn but at least she has her legs out. Lucas' outfit is dogshit ass but even he at least has a cool scarf in DP and a nice coat in PT.
SM Ash at has the excuse of being forced to look like the second most swagless male MC (after DP Lucas), Gen 4 Ash got an original outfit and somehow managed to look uglier than either Eilo or Lucas. Just embarrassing, I cannot imagine defending that Ash design unless you're the biggest Sinnohfetus on the planet. I bet you like XY too, fuck.
