>>59033820>It was pretty massive in Aus around the year 2000, everyone had base/jungle/fossil and then iWhen i was in school Pokemon was considered super lame and "gay" and it was embarassing to admit you like them so i never told anybody i'm watching anime and recording them on VHS tapes even.
I always think what would happen if i actually knew about pokemon cards. I'm super nerdy so i would definitely have an insane collection. Because even back then i sometimes tend to have 2 of a thing that i like (action figure for example - 1 to play with and 1 to keep on a shelf sealed).
I guess it wasn't advetised that much, because i honestly never heared about Pokemon cards that much even if i was super into pokemon.
I knew about cards of course but never came closer.
PS:
My earliest Pokemon TCG memories come from an early 2000s TV-show "OZ".
One of villains from that show kidnapped some character's kids by telling them he has pokemon cards in his car.
And it made me think "WOW! Pokemon cards? I guess they are very popular?", hahaha.
