>>59033880Because when the Mega is portrayed as total fucking ass, it doesn't look good for the mon. When you give it to a literal fucking clown NPC like Lysandre, it detracts from Gyarados' cool factor. They designed the Mega as a boss fight, which means it's less fun to use Mega Gyarados than it would be to use any of the other Megas. Like again, compare Mega Gyarados to Mega Lucario and Gardevoir, the other two Megas NPCs use in XY. Who got the better deal?
