Only for the book to end up being a glorified retelling of Pokedex trivias? Things that we already know, nothing new, no interesting deep ecology whatsoever.
Why did they even bother with actual ecologist?

You can tell from the illustrations that whoever made the book respects Pokémon, but GameFreak was probably extremely strict in what information they could put. No one hates Pokemon more than game freak
