Mind, in Japan, Canalave is simply called "Cargo Port, which suddenly makes everything make perfect sense - Jubilife expanded to a city and its borders grew, while the original Galaxy expedition village became the cargo port for Jubilife. There's also the fact Jubilife is canonically set north of Sandgem town in DPPt/BDSP, but in L: A Sandgem flats is part of the Obsidian Fieldlands wilderness with no sight of any large-scale habitation.
