I ALSO know this is Nintendo's M. O. when they release a new system, get Pokémon on it within 2 years to take advantage of the series automatic system sales spike effect. The series caused the revival of the Game Boy as a hardware unit, it sold 16m GBA units to kids and casuals who needed to play it, 17m spergs bought a DS and Pokémon for it and stuck around after the 3DS for Gen 5, they dropped the point and gimmick of the upgraded system when they got to it because kids could be affected by the effect yet still saw it match the series low-water marks for new Gen pairs and they released so often on Switch (across three separate Generations to boot) that it's no wonder Nintendo ensured Gen 10 would be for their newest system on their slate, because it ensures sales.
