Diamond and Pearl also had Johto met data in the game. People denied the inevitability of HGSS for years for the same reason.
Z got cancelled for a reason. There's no reason for them to cancel RSE after how well FRLG sold, especially when 2026 is another gap year for the mainline/non-legends series. When Arceus got delayed, they had ILCA make BDSP. But it turns out they can just dump the old roms on the shop and save millions of dollars and months of stress. So it's strange to assume we won't see more low-cost quick turnaround releases.
