Big releases drive emulator advancements, and Pokemon is the biggest release we have scheduled. If there's not a Switch 2 emulator by the end of 2027 I'd be shocked. How well it will run, how compatible it is with games, and how beefy your rig needs to be are really up in the air, but it will exist. Probably won't be able to connect to online or even locally unless they put LAN mode back in, so OP's point stands.

lol, just look at how long it took for the vita and ps4 to get hacked and then to get emulated, 2032 its a conservative date if anything. Of course time will tell but there is no way in hell to get hacking, even less emulation that soon.

For someone who used to obnoxiously champion genning Pokemon, I have to say that I really enjoyed breeding Pokemon in Sword and Shield. I actually felt fun and rewarding. So much so that I bred every Pokemon that I possibly could. The most annoying part was the process of breeding a 5 IV 0 Speed IV Ditto

Because nobody gave a shit enough about their exclusives to get a proper emulator up and running. What are you going to emulate on Vita that hasn't been ported elsewhere by this point? Fucking Neptunia PP? All the PS4 really has going for it is Bloodborne.
Pokemon has always been a huge driving force for Nintendo's homebrew scene. People want the Switch 2 cracked open for datamining, cheating and piracy, which in turn drives emulation, even if it won't be viable for years.

lol, the real reason has been the weak security that has plagued most nintendo systems, nintendo learned their lesson when making the switch, just to get blown open because nvidia had a shitton of documentation and an xploit, was really bad luck.

Architecture is more of a problem when it comes to emulation than security ever is. Are you sure you're not thinking of hacking? That's a very different thing, and while it's what OP is talking about the emulation post isn't really talking about it.
