it's okay but you can see it's glaring problems
exploration is pretty barebones during the main game and it caused me to get roadblocked all of the time
type distribution is annoying because they're so stingy with electric and fire types and i had to rely on TMs a lot because pokemon don't learn good moves that match their type until later levels
this game made me hate poison types because of how abundant they are too
