>>59048839If there had been ABSOLUTELY no reference to Poképhilia and they treated poképhiles like Disney and summarily ignored the fuck out of them, you may be able to argue that. But from the outset of the series, they've implied a deeper relationship between humans and pokémon and as they years passed, got more brave and blatant with their references and asides added tot he games (never mind the franchise allows doujin artists to use their IP to make porn, while simultaneously banhammering people doing it incorrectly *coughpatreonniggerscough*). At this stage, they're fetish fuel station attendants, willingly and unabashedly stoking the fires and shovelling the fuel into the furnace, knowing those that see it will see it and those that want to remain innocent ignorant little shits can too. But there's no reality where they just *happened* to explain how people and pokémon used to marry in the past, before then showing an example of a person marrying a pokéon and living as a couple and them NOT envisioning a world where people and pokémon hook up on occassion. even the lore of the affection bonus' logical conclusion is a pokéon in a committed loving relationship with their trainer would be night unbeatible in battle, if mere deep affection affords them the ability to ignore what the opposition does to them, because of their feelings for their trainer.
