Exeggutor had 4 heads until FRLG, with it only technically being reintroduced with Alolan Exeggutor's tail-head.

None of these angles show 4 heads. Not that I think it always had 3, it did have 4, but one was behind it. FRLG didn't shrink the number of heads, its just a different angle that hides another head like the 4th is hidden before that.

The head on the right is making the same face as the one in the "back". It's literally just Exeggutor's body rotated at a 90 degree difference.

I'll give you an exeggutor one. Exeggutor is the most consistent pokemon on Blue's team. Appearing even more often than his ace pidgeot. It's on his team in every single game he's ever appeared in with the sole exceptionof his venusaur teams where it replaces it's spot, and his round 2 team on pokemon stadium 2.

makes me wonder if during development the green was planned to change to blue when it evolved but they scrapped it & forgot to change the sprite

There's a challenge in Viridian city in the original Gold and Silver where you can fight a powerful trainer. The default trainer uses a team of the 3 final stages of each Johto starter at level 50 but if you used the Mystery Gift feature (which sucked ass back in the day because it was only usable on the GBC instead of GB[Pocket] or later on the GBA) you would face off against the team of the person you connected to.

As a kid I thought it was the last team you connected to for a battle but apparently it was just Mystery Gift.

In pokemon HGSS postgame you get to trade with steven. He gives you a beldum for a foretress. If the foretress you give him has maxed out friendship he gets special dialogue. I don't care how often this one's posted, I'm sharing it because I like it a lot.
