Imagine being in debt forever to be essentially a janitor and the game just portrays it as the morally good choice. Game Freak just made the "good guys" worse than the villains from the first fucking games because they have zero creativity now.

The mafia is more famous in the western world as an organized crime type than the yakuza, especially back in the 90s. So no shit the west would use a name to reflect that.
