I don't know if I'd go that far, but EN/Gura really did propel a lot of them forward gaining a much larger worldwide audience. The non-JP viewers were still there and watching before EN, but there was a massive influx of worldwide viewership with Myth.

What the actual fuck are you talking about, the Holos who didn't show up to Fes or other events is not obscure knowledge. Fauna didn't even show up for New York, let alone Japan. Fauna had an infamously terrible arc in Japan and then never went back despite staying with the company quite a while longer.

Fauna, one time, flew to Japan to participate in holo event with Holosummer. After that she did fuck all, not even participating in voice packs even. She was clearly the weakest link in Promise when it came to gen unity (just look at how her gen reacted to her graduation compared to how they reacted to Mumei's)

Ina hates that she has the skimpiest default outfit in Hololive but was still joining 3D lives with Myth. Kronii hates the absurd boob jiggling stripper outfit but was still joining the Promise collabs. Cover does require talents to use their default outfits for anniversary lives which is a much bigger issue for the earlier EN gens. Song releases though were never an issue with any EN gen and Advent getting lore videos and 5 songs for their anniversary shows that Cover is focusing on them. The older gens are getting pushed back in favor of Advent.

They work different like previous JP gens, having a official channel where they put almost all their songs instead of their individual channels must give you a hint. Advent is something doing similar, because the official channel is the place to post their group songs instead of the channel of one of the members.

Hololive has that Japanese group punishment mentality and they are now heavily favoring Advent. They are not only getting over a dozen group songs on the main Hololive EN account in less than a year but their lore is being heavily expanded. Cover doesn't mind having Myth and Promise constantly shill merch but it's getting noticeable their gens are now receiving the bare minimum.

Cover giving less support to Myth and Promise because of the graduations that management caused is not making Hololive look good. Cover isn't stealing money from a charity but they are punishing gens that already have low morale and that could trigger more graduations in 2026.
