So they had to avoid releasing visuals of the groups because the artists have to scrub three people out of them. That's got to suck as the artists. Also, it's nice to see Kanata attempted to fuck up Holofes by not letting them know in advance she wouldn't be there.

That's the entire point of keeping things secret and how leaks happen. Even if upper management knows, they can't tell the people who actually work on the HoloFes project that Kanata won't be there. They can't tell the artists, "don't include Kanata in any of your work or designs".

Stage 1 is arguably the weakest but Stage 3 only looks artifically good due to recent Flow Glow 3D's. It's basically just Azuiro for the female JP fans and Baerys for the female EN fans and nothing else.
