Started getting a bunch of weird graphical issues when I started up my pc today. Updating drivers seems to have stopped it but I'm still nervous. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing and whether that's generally a temp fix or if it's more likely that it was just a temp issue that new drivers or restarting would have fixed.

Anyway as a test I loaded up a premade foot scene I had lying around, messed with it a bit and made it size and did a test render. Came out fine with no noticeable issues and the thread no longer seems to be covered in black spots. Beeg angel

I had an issue like this before, it was my SSD completely shitting the bed. But I waited too long and eventually it bricked, I lost almost everything and had to start fresh on a new drive, new windows, etc.
It could be that, it could be your GPU, not sure. But if you have a cheaper SSD and it's been a while (4+ yrs), you might want to get a new one sooner rather than later.

Think it's safe to assume it was GPU related since there's been nothing since a driver update but backed up the most important stuff on the drive just in case. Now I guess I can only hope it doesn't happen again or it was a one-off issue that's not indicative of something greater.

Getting into learning Blender, where do most creators find their chuuba models, and then good city environments to use? Especially the latter, that one always ticked me off, being familiar with using XPS file format for rendering.
