That said, the design itself isn't dead. She already has a new, holo-quality 3D model for it and used it in her birthday concert. It's gorgeous in motion but it'll probably be seen more as a celebratory or gimmick thing for retro streams until she releases the files for it.
Knowing her, she probably already has an updated, redrawn Live2D just sitting around in a folder waiting for an event to pull it out (like she did with the various chibi models she revealed at once a bit ago)
