Obviously you shouldn't do crime IRL, but in this case fucking around for entertainment is literally their job. Jail isn't entertaining for anybody involved and actively hinders the entertainer's ability to entertain their audience. Instead they could've done shit like fines (actively force criminals to do more crime to recoup their lost money) or community service/forced labor, which would serve the same purpose (punishment for crime and getting caught) but still allow more interactions without disrupting the flow of a stream.
That said, it's Luca so he should've just been banned from the server entirely. The dude doesn't know how to entertain his audience in a way that doesn't fuck over everybody else in a collab and has no place in a world full of people not used to or expecting his brand of griefing.
