Right, but if they treat the JP holos with the japanese naming convention, then that would make sense. Like, they think the EN vtubers use western so they refer to them by their first names instead. Get what Im saying?

And for a lot of things like artwork and people to produce MVs. Basically they run their own channel out of their own pocket, like any other streamer. But because they're using cover tech/art assets they have to get their activities approved so cover can protect their brand. Management exists only to protect the brand and look out for promotional opportunities like sponsored events.

I genuinely don't know if playback at x2 even makes a difference. It's kind of like how you can pause and play, but you'll be off a frame or something on the stream, however the stream won't let you hit the button to catch up like it usually does if you're behind a minute or so. In any case, it doesn't sound so difficult then.

Well yeah. You get the brand and cross-promotion, which is really powerful. Join hololive and you get 100,000 subscribers before you even do anything.

You also get the "benefit" of management getting game permissions for you. That's a big plus in Japan where game companies and the law are more strict, but it's a kick in the teeth for US streamers.
