It's especially disappointing if you were interested in the "horror" aspect, as in what actually happened and what the "monster" is.well the monster really doesnt matter, the story is about self sacrifice and its hard to portray how scary it can be to give your life away for someone else and nobody can really tell you how it feels due to obvious reasons. The monster (In the ending and as a whole, not the ones lingering about) is there to put a face to the that fear I guess

There is no lore, there is no deeper meaning why the monster is there, there is no "figuring out what is going on" you just have to kill it
But due to internet lore autists who make money off 2hr videos you have the expectetion that there will be 20983 easter eggs and note documents explaining how the creatures pecker shriveled and it had to get drilled into by an oil rig to reach the surface and start killing people indiscriminately for no benefit to its own
