Though I recommend the OVAs because they have great animations, smaller storylines and The Origin functions as a kinda prequel with some changes to 0079's lead up. I don't like all the changes made, mainly with Char's character but it also has some of his most kino historic moments like a certain Coup and The Battle of Loam (Opening scene for the OVA series):
