>>43389304Thank you! I did a bit of reps for the writing and I found out a bunch of cool stuff too! It’s kinda surprising that a modern eyeball planet would have a cloudy, tropical rainforest in the pupil region instead of a scorching desert (unless the planet’s very dry with low greenhouse effect, although Despina does have the latter) For the most part I think life on Despina would be pretty stable if harsh since there are basically no seasons and the wind’s always blowing at one step away from gale on a calm day. I think the only unpredictable part would be when the solar flare hits! Any native species that managed to survive long enough would have evolved some kinda early warning system but I don’t imagine things to be particularly fun for the early colonists so the first habitats might have been underground like in lava tubes or caves
I don’t think Despina would have a large moon since the tidal locking and strong gravitation from the star would break or throw the moon out relatively fast. Having a ring would be fun although I think Despina’s too warm to have a natural shiny ring
the bioenngineering’s there mostly to justify me copying Earth species and having monsters to fight in mechs
