>>82413729>yes the marketing was a little confusing at the start but this was clarified many times in what you are now calling a "course-correction".It was NOT confusing, it was clear as fuck.
>no blue dorito>the ONLY mentions of Hololive in their original PR were "Hololive Productions" and "Hololive DEV_IS" when referring respectively to the name of the production company and the new branch (in a way indistinguishable from the Holostars (production company + branch name)>their girls, in a VERY VERY VERY VERY uncharacteristically manner unheard on Hololive, tweeted at every member of the production company be it from Hololive and from the Holostars>homos that wouldn't be CAUGHT DEAD replying to Holo girls enthusiastically replied to them>when asked about the new branch, Botan said something to the effect of "I don't have much information, the information we have is that they're a sister branch in the same way HoloEN and HoloID are", something echoed by the other girls in the first days pre debut>At very least Ao positioned her branding EXPLICITLY to attract a female audience, again, uncharacteristically for all of HololiveAll in all, everything led to believe that this new branch was NOT Hololive and NOT for the Hololive audience at all.
The initial rumours, because of the androgynous design for Ao, was that they would be a "mixed branch" and, at very best, they would be "female Holostars in all but name".
All in all there was NOT confusion at all in their initial market
>there is a new branch>they are NOT HoloJP>they are NOT targeting the current Hololive audience>they are EXPLICTLY for some other audience, not the current Hololive audience>THEY ARE ***NOT*** FOR (YOU)!>their focus is on GROWTH as in the expansion of the audience beyond what the current Hololive audience reaches>NOT (YOU)!>someone else>DEFINITELY NOT (YOU)! KEEP AWAY!The end result? A branch that almost failed to beat 100k subs on debut, trailing even ID2 and ID3.
Then and only then the very real "course correction" happened with a massive salvage operation with the main channel and MANY of the girls channel going full blown on the following messaging
>JOUDAN, JOUDAN! >THEY'RE HOLOLIVE TOO!>LOOK AT THE CHART!>THEY'RE FOR YOU TOO, MY DEAR HOLOLIVE AUDIENCE>PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!Then, after a few weeks of the Regloss girls having a "Holo like" behaviour very different from the initial expectation, it was like a switch was flipped in the end of December that three of them (Ao, Ririka and Raden) all of a sudden went back to depart from the beaten path from the rest of the Hololive girls and went back to "expand the audience", with hilarious results for Ririka and the expected result for the rest of them
Again, that was no "misunderstanding" and the "course correction" was very real
