The best conclusion I can come up with is that the catalog is actually the ungodly birthchild of 4chan, reddit, and twitter in its entirely and (you)s are equivalent to karma points/retweets and catalogkeks only care about the end result of getting attention it doesn't matter if what they type sounds like it could be from a bot.
What's worse is that you end up with cases where you find someone steal a post from global, then it gets posted on bannedvtmemes, then THAT screenshot gets posted on the catalog with practically everybody involved not even realizing what they're doing.
At least giftcord raids offered some sort of monetary reward, the "reward" here is literally a (you). All the cuckposting, doxxposting, and all that, there's no rhyme or reason for it at all except for (you)s. What we are looking at here is unironic late stage election tourism.
