It's most likely a case of management asking the girls to do something, the girls not realizing they can just say "no", doing the thing they were asked to do, management mistaking it as proactivity to work and asking them to do more stuff, the girls mistaking it as the company overworking them.
Everything could be resolved with a bit of communication. But management is stupid and the girls are not stacy enough.
