Mentally ill or autistic women often fall into fads as teenagers like wicca, otherkin (I'm a wolf inside mom you wouldn't understand), vampire awakening stuff, astrology, and recently transgenderism as a way to one up their friends and feel special. Internally with their friends they brag about being x gender or y gender, or pyrogender that gives you pyrokenesis, all with unique flags you make yourself with a whole horoscope-tier explanation, pronouns etc.
This was why pronouns became a thing online in an age where people could already list their custom gender in forum bios, the pronouns themselves were pushed for by these teenage girls as a way to show off, in a manner similar to how men had their own unique sonic characters with special powers, or mlp characters with their own cutie marks.
I had a girlfriend who went through this whole cycle in high school, I saw all of it and met all of these people. She was abducted and raped as a child and had bpd and a bunch of other issues, and the community she was a part of all had similarly fucked up teenage girls who made their own unique flag for their totally unique new gender. She was also into reiki healing bullshit too. She got her breasts cut off, she took testosterone, she fucked up her life and I broke up with her because she cheated on me (I never should have stayed but I was young, naive, but also fucked up in other ways so I had my own issues to worry about).
Externally these girls tell others they are nonbinary. That is what nonbinary means. It means they are into this otherkin tier online joke of a community and the governments of the world actually back up their delusions so this one actually sticks around because the corporations of the world back up their absolutely insane crybully behavior. It's a memetic disease.
